Helpful Vacuum Hose Information

A vacuum hose should be replaced if you notice cracks, tears, or visible holes, as these can significantly reduce suction. Persistent kinks or permanent bends that don't straighten out may also restrict airflow and diminish efficiency. A noticeable loss of suction, despite a clean filter and canister, could point to a compromised hose. Additionally, if a stretch hose has lost its elasticity or warped, it may not retract properly, affecting usability. For electric hoses, if attachments stop receiving power or show intermittent functionality, a replacement may be necessary. Clogs that can’t be cleared or signs of age and general wear, such as UV light degradation or broken internal wire reinforcement, also indicate it’s time for a new hose.
