Vacuum Filters
Helpful Vacuum Filter Information
Regular maintenance of your vacuum filter is essential to ensure the vacuum’s optimal performance and to maintain good indoor air quality. A clean filter helps prevent suction loss, keeps the motor from overheating, and stops allergens and dust particles from being recirculated into the air. Most vacuum filters should be checked at least once a month for dirt buildup, though this can vary based on the type of filter and frequency of use. Washable filters can often be rinsed and reused, but even they have a limited lifespan, so it’s crucial to replace them according to the manufacturer’s recommendations—usually every six to twelve months. Non-washable filters, like HEPA filters, should also be replaced as needed, typically every six months or as directed in the vacuum’s manual, to maintain effective filtration and airflow.
